Ubuntu 9.10

最近我又因為衝動而跑去install ubuntu啦

新的ubuntu 9.10感觉非常不错用

我install在我的dell vostro 1510上后

只是要搞一搞wireless的driver就没问题了

而且新的ubuntu里也有ibus input可以用来打中文字

但是没有smart input

而且control有點奇怪

害得我打字打到很慢下

非常不习惯的说

身為google的支持者的我当然不會甘于使用firefox的啦

所以我就跑去install了chromium来

感觉跟chrome差不多而已

所以我非常喜歡

上面就是chromium在ubuntu里的样子啦

现在我还在繼续慢慢的configure

然后再看看有什么東東好玩的

The story begin from this morning.

Today when I wake up at the morning and check my mail box,

I was so excited to saw that google has sent me an invitation to the wave.

So I sign up it immediately and ride the wave!! xD

And of course playing it all alone is not fun at all.

So google has given me some invitations to send to my friends.

Up until the moment I writing this blog, I have sent few invitations to my friends already.

I expect that there might be strangers coming to this blog and demand for invitation.

I'm very sorry to say that I will not simply give invitation to strangers,

since that google wave is only fun if you are playing it with friends.

So I'm going to fully utilize the invitations left for me to gain maximum excitement with friends.

酒鬼日記

我應該很久沒有更新過這個blog了吧

主要是因為fyp很忙

還有也沒什麼東西寫吧

先回到正題

當初在吃完tenji之後

去逛cold storage看酒

就萌生了想要喝酒的念頭

然後又想到要用不一樣的方法來慶祝下FYP的結束

既然登威也剛巧在五月時會回來

那麼就叫他從labuan買一兩支酒回來吧

首選當然是我還滿期待的chivas regal

然後又問看cfc要甚麼別的

結果搞到最後他居然要那麼甚麼bombay sapphire的

藍色的酒~有點噁心的感覺

光陰似箭~歲月如梭~

很快的fyp結束了

登威也帶著我們要的酒回來了

所以今天我就出去midvalley那邊meet他們拿酒

然後順便去唱k一下

哇哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈

剛才在lowyat翻logitech的產品時

掃過一堆logitech的mouse的圖片

突然我看到以下的圖片

怎麼看起來那麼熟悉的

再看看我手上捉住的mouse

欸?!怎麼那麼像的?

無論顏色和形狀都一模一樣

可是怎麼我的logo是asus的

這個是我買我的asus電腦送的mouse來的

結果我的話還沒說完

就在我的mouse底下看到個logitech的logo了

原來這個mouse真的是logitech的

難怪那麼好用啦 XD

再看看lowyat的價錢

哇!居然要賣到RM85的叻

看來我是拾到寶了

慵懶的假期~墮落ing

這個禮拜是難得的假期

雖然我這個假期不回家

要留下來做fyp和assignment

但是人卻變得越來越懶了

吃飽了睡

睡醒了吃

然後還跟kar hoong和cfc玩left 4 dead

結果還因為玩太多結果夢見被zombie追 =.=

天啊

我醬子下去不行的叻

眼看著時間醬子一點點過去

我還真的覺得我會趕不完我的fyp啊

話剛說完又皮很癢想要打civilization了

我可是要為38小時的lan game party做準備的叻 XD

我的iPod Shuffle

這個拜四去了家庭聚會回來後

我的iPod Shuffle也終於到手啦

雖然不是新的

但是也還可以用啦

我還滿喜歡它的小巧方便

隨便夾在衣服上都可以帶著走了 XD

回到家後我當然是第一時間download iTune下來

然後放進我喜歡的歌

我常愛聽的歌也還滿多一下的

不過有1GB都夠裝了

哇哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈

我都放了我愛聽的蘇打綠和五月天的歌進去

還有最近是看Nodame太多被影響到了

我突然很愛聽古典音樂

跟我朋友拿了Nodame Live CD的音樂來放進去

聽到那些Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Brahms等的交響曲的感覺真好啊

第一個job offer

昨天我就已經收到micro ocean的通知了

說他們決定offer給我那個software engineer的position

今天他們再次打過來跟我確定一些細節

他們offer給我的basic salary是RM2200

其實這個數目比我預想中還要少的說

我當時告訴他的salary expectation其實是RM2300-3000的說

2.2k的話扣除了EPF之後

所剩的還不到2k

感覺不是很滿意的說

然後其實好像也沒有什麼其它的津貼可以加上去的感覺

當時在電話裡

我告訴對方說我要hold住這個offer一下

因為我還要時間來考慮其它的可能性

他就問我說其實我主要的考慮因素是甚麼

我當時跟他說

我的第一個考慮因素是working field

如果能夠的話我當然是希望做自己有興趣的工作

而錢的問題落於第二因素

總和來說

其實我對那間公司的messaging system並沒有太大的興趣

至少我沒有看到任何有趣的地方

然後他們offer給我的薪水也比我預想中還要低些

本來我還想要拖久一點才給他們答覆的

不過他們要我在這個星期內給答覆

所以我想想應該還是推掉吧

反正我也還有大把機會的說

MMU的career fair還在等著我呢 XD

題外話:

剛才跟youqi談到了vitrox又send來同樣的email的事情

他告訴我其實那個mailing list是跟著cgpa排的

我看了一下也覺得有點可能

雖然不是很很確定

但是從我認識的幾個人的cgpa的range來算的話

這個也不是不可能的說

不過如果照這樣來看的話

居然還有一個人的cgpa高過我的說 =.=

想想有點不甘心,雖然我都沒有很努力讀書的說

就去調查了一下那個是何方神聖

查了一下那個人好像是個伊朗人來的 =.=

看來在這裡要找出成績比我好的本地人還有點難度的說

本地人真的是都丟臉到家了啊

音樂交響之夢

今天終於給我追完11集的Nodame Cantibile啦

這是一出演繹非常特別的日劇

雖然是從動畫改編過來

但是還是儘量的維持了一些在動畫中才會出現的情節

例如將人打飛到牆上,夸張的動作和說話,還有標準的翻白眼

內容也非常吸引人

主題幾乎都是環繞在音樂上面

聽到那麼多的古典音樂演奏的感覺真好

主題曲也是貝多芬的第七交響曲

看到結局時的最後演奏會中上演的貝多芬第七交響曲

有非常強烈的感動的感覺

到現在我還可以感覺音符在耳邊環繞

在這部戲中我不得不佩服那個女主角的演技

對於她演的那個角色非常到位

雖然我沒有看過原版的動畫是甚麼樣的

但是應該也差別不大了吧

看完了還在想要不要繼續追巴黎特別篇的好

這幾天都一直在看戲

沒什麼做到東西啊~~

漫畫,動畫...

昨天剛看完了部漫畫

是從kar hoong那邊拿來的kashimashi

kashimashi的中文版名字好像是叫女生愛女生

之所以會想要去看是因為開頭還滿有趣下的說

故事開頭是說主角跟喜歡的女同學表白被拒絕

去山上散心時被外星人的太空船撞死

之後雖然外星人把他給復活了

但是他卻變成女生了

哈哈哈哈哈哈 XD

還滿特別的開頭吧

有點類似亂馬的感覺

不過主角卻是慢慢變得越來越女性化

但是結果他/她還跟另外兩個女生有三角關係

就如中文版的名字說的一樣

就是搞lesbian的啦

哈哈哈哈哈哈 XD

後來就是外星人推斷主角只剩下一個月的性命而已(外星人跑去學校當老師XD)

因為他/她的命運其實早已經到了盡頭

而外星人當時復活了他,所以他變成了女生的命運

然後各個角色都在不斷的演內心戲(絕對沒有在天橋底下演著內心戲的陌生路人甲)

臉上強顏歡笑

心裡暗自哭泣

最後主角與他/她所選擇的那個女生成了命運共同體

而得以繼續生存下去

不難想像一定會有的happy ending

內容好像被我說到很複雜的說XD

其實乍看之下這種內容好像不是我會去看的那種

不過還滿有趣的說啦

所以我看完了

其實也沒有很長而已

才5本書那麼多就結束了

說到這種愛情系列類型的漫畫

還有一個我滿喜歡的是幸運女神

這個漫畫出了超久的

好像有20多年了

到現在都還沒結束 =.=

最初注意到這個是當時看到AXN有播出幸運女神的OVA版

OVA版算是濃縮版,好像只有六集而已,當然內容有點不一樣

那時候看到了非常喜歡

後來找到它的漫畫後我也有去追看的說

故事內容非常簡單

就是有一天主角不小心打錯電話到女神求救專線

然後一個女神直接過來實現他的一個願望

結果主角許了要她永遠留在他身邊的願望

願望居然真的實現了(美麗的誤會 XD)

結果他們只好生活在一起

然後也發生很多事情

大概是醬子

有趣的是前面的部分作者的畫工的麻麻地的

後面時居然都畫到很美下

連造型也不同掉 XD

基本上我覺得我會喜歡這種類型的

也許是因為我自己很羨慕吧

希望自己也有像漫畫裡的那個主角一樣有個美女在身邊

就算是發夢也爽啊

哇哈哈哈哈哈哈哈 XD

然後最近也有發現一個滿有趣的從動畫改編過去的日劇

就是Nodame Cantible

中文名好像是叫交響情人夢

其實去年8TV好像都已經有播過了的說

不過我都沒看電視的 XD

最近看到我朋友在看這個

內容還滿有趣的說

他們都是音樂學校的學生

所以內容會有很多音樂表演

這部日劇最特別的是融合了動畫式的誇張演法

好滿好笑的說

我要去跟我朋友copy過來看啦

今天我又看到驚喜了

jobstreet還真的是不停的給我驚喜

話說我今天打開jobstreet來看時

看到兩個尋找research assistant的廣告

仔細點看發現居然是Dr Ewe Hong Tat的廣告

而且居然還是UTAR的

他幾時跑去UTAR了啊?

我還真的嚇一跳的說

不過這個research assistant的工作看起來還不錯

一個月兩千塊

包埋master degree的學費

然後是位於PJ的UTAR

至少怎樣都感覺好過MMU的地點吧 XD

如果我去申請的話說不定中的機率還滿高的

他應該還認得我吧 XD

要認真考慮一下

然後今天也收到vitrox的邀請

要"我們"send resume和照片過去給他們

這裡的"我們"其實是指那一個mailing list裡面的人

雖然說是位於檳城

太遠了讓我有點不想去

不過我還是丟我的resume過去先好了

醬子還有機會慢慢考慮的說

差點忘了我這個拜五還有兩個interview的說

一個是叫甚麼ePetrol的公司

還有一個是之前提過的micro ocean (我偷偷跑去申請了 XD)

我把interview都排在同一天

一個是在PJ,一個是在TPM

昨天終於又開始下手繼續趕fyp的東西了

這次我要寫好一個manager class來handle我的game character

想想沒什麼難度

也不過是把原本在character裡面的code copy過去

改改幾下應該就可以了

很快的我寫好了

還偷懶去browse別的東西一下

才來compile

怎知它居然給我80多個errors

有那麼誇張嗎

我做過甚麼東西喔

結果一整晚就是在慢慢fix那些errors

弄著弄著終於只剩下40多個errors了

但是偏生我就是怎麼也找不出到底是哪裡有問題

翻來翻去都看不出

雖然我直覺認為那種errors通常都是少了一個很重要的symbol又或者是macro的問題而已

可是不管我怎麼看都不覺得我寫的有甚麼問題

該有的東西都有

搞到我一整晚的心情很差

直接生氣不弄了跑去看戲

就在剛才我又打開來再compile看看

還是一樣多errors

我就試試改一改headers那些

結果居然越改越多errors出來

居然給我出現200多個errors

我都快被氣炸了

沒辦法了

只好revert去前一個version了

繼續浪費時間在這裡的話

我就真的甚麼都不用做了

還是先加進wiimote的部分再說

不然等下也不懂要怎樣跟john see交代了

今天又在lab裡面時去翻查有甚麼好的webhosting啦

翻來翻去後

覺得iWebHosting的應該還算不錯

不過沒有送免費的domain

但是被小胖提醒了server的respond time很慢

我才發覺原來不是malaysia server來的

醬子的話也只好放棄了

所以我就繼續去找

結果居然給我找到更好的本地hosting

而且還比較便宜

又有送domain lagi

不過翻來翻去就是沒看到guarantee money back period

等下萬一有甚麼大問題的話就慘

所以我先email去問了

等著他們reply

希望一切順利吧

話說我在前一個blog裡對大家發出挑戰了吧

就是那個計算200,000以內的prime number的總和

沒想到youqi居然來挑戰了(才發現原來他有看我的blog的 XD )

他用php寫了個program放上server

然後給我url去看

不過還真的有點慢的說

需要三秒多左右才能完成calculation

這時候我就想用C++來寫看看有多快

反正我這兩天一直在想著一個不同我以往用過的algorithm

也很想test一下

第一次嘗試 - 8秒多,答案正確

但是我卻覺得奇怪為甚麼會那麼慢的

看看我的program logic裡面感覺有點不對

但是又能給出正確答案的說

第二次嘗試 - <50ms,答案錯到離譜

我把logic稍微改了一點

居然差那麼多

百思不得其解

最後我只好使出殺手鐧 - output出中間所有的數目來看

第三次嘗試 - 100多ms,答案正確 XD

我突然想通之前的logic錯在哪裡了

看來這個algorithm可以跑到很快一下

只是使用了一些簡單的number theory而已 XD

而youqi嘗試用傳統的一個一個慢慢test到sqrt(n)的方法都要跑到500多ms

解決完了上面那個問題了

我無聊又跑去jobstreet上面翻翻了

結果居然又給我看到這個

又是同一間公司

但是題目不一樣

是要找出最小的能夠被1-20除以的數目

而這個要找的是web programmer

看來要當web programmer還有點難度下

哈哈哈哈哈哈

這家公司真的是太可愛了

還有誰要來挑戰嗎? XD

Job Hunting

前幾天在學校經過一個booth

是下個星期就要辦的JACTIM Career Fair的booth

那邊就是介紹關於這個展覽的東東

還有讓學生呈上他們的resume

眼看我還有幾個月就要畢業了

應該也是時候填好我的resume了吧

雖然之前也有填過一份

不過那個是自己隨便寫+抄的 XD

應該要有份比較professional look的resume才行

所以我就決定上去jobstreet開一個account啦

然後在jobstreet上面填好我的詳細資料

jobstreet就會幫我generate好一份professional的resume啦 XD

而且還會幫我列出符合條件的工作出來讓我看

但是話說我今天打開符合條件的工作列表出來看時

我看到一個公司的recruitment是醬子的

居然是要你解決了裡面列出的那個問題才有資格apply的 XD

看了看它的問題

是要你寫出個algorithm能夠找出200,000以內的prime number的總和而已

其實問題是不難

只是要有一個optimize的algorithm

不然的話會非常慢

能夠在1秒內找出答案的program才符合資格 XD

其實這個一點都不難的

有誰要來挑戰一下

下次我才來公布我的solution XD

如果你還不知道甚麼是prime number的話

prime number是一個不能被任何數目除以的數目,除了1和那個數目本身

當然1是不包括在prime number內的

所以10以內的prime number有2, 3, 5, 7

你明白了嗎? XD

上個星期去sungai wang時

我跑去買了雙converse的鞋子 XD

為甚麼要去買新鞋呢

原因很簡單:

我的舊鞋已經穿了一年多了
我的鞋底好像已經穿了個洞
最近經常下雨,我的鞋子居然進水了(原本是不會進水的說)
都不懂那個鞋子是用甚麼做的,進水而已卻弄髒我的襪子 =.= (看來中國貨還是有點限度)

基於以上的種種理由

所以買新鞋是必要的

哇哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈!!

我的blog的header及footer都多了一排東西

看到一堆不一樣顏色的機械人在裡面走來走去的

又是一個久違的blog,也是第一次在這裡用中文寫

今天在看完我的bloglist裡面所有的最新的blog後

突然有種心情想要回來寫了

而且還是用中文來寫

最近都在忙一堆的東西

一大堆的project和assignment要煩

fyp其實都沒什麼進展

因為我都沒怎麼認真去做

眼看著時間一天一天過去了

我還真的有點害怕最後交不出貨的說

偏偏我就是沒有足夠的時間來做

都怪我皮癢跑去報名參加了那個MDeC贊助的Dell Training course

雖然可以學C#和.NET

但是其實我都沒怎麼去認真聽書的說

就醬子每個拜六禮拜的時間都浪費在那邊了

回家後也懶惰做些甚麼東西了

看醬子的情形我自己也很擔心下

但是就是懶了沒辦法

說完了一些廢話

就來說一點有建設性的東西吧

基於我的wireless computing這個subject的assignment要求我們做一個mobile application的關係

所以我就開始去想一些有用,有趣及可行的idea

第一個idea出來了

最初我的想法是利用bluetooth將電話相機的video給stream過去的

可以拿來當webcam的replacement

後來想到既然還有麥克風,而且要保持mobility

為甚麼不直接通過Internet來通電話呢

想像著用手機來跟朋友skype的感覺應該不錯吧

可以在家裡到處跑的說

對於這個idea其實我也沒做甚麼research

就只是純粹一個想法而已

可以拿來當backup idea

另一個比較有趣的idea也很快出來

因為我跑去研究android了

玩著android的emulator的時候

我知道它能夠使用google map的web service了

所以我就想出個idea

就是做出個google map navigation system with voice guide

雖然說android不是完全沒有類似的東西

但是我個人還是覺得很有趣

就著手下去做research尋找我需要的東西

花了我好一番工夫才找到個android的text to speech library

並且成功在emulator裡面測試了

至於那個google map的東東就很麻煩了

我花了兩天在debug才成功load到google map進去android

所以看來這個idea是可行的了

只差沒有寫好一份proposal而已

最近開始染上了一個習慣

就是看有有趣的東西就跑去研究一下

到處search相關的資料

其實這個有部分是被you qi影響的

然後也經常跟他談論這些有趣的東東

今天又跑去找了些關於vpn的東西了

為甚麼呢?

因為kar hoong告訴我他突然收到個email

是個fcm的lecturer要他幫忙寫個類似garena的game client

然後對方還願意付錢的說

想想garena應該是用vpn來連線的吧

所以我就隨便search了一下相關的東東

找到了openvpn

但是懶惰繼續研究了

反正也不是找我的

得空再慢慢研究

不過you qi好像說他打算自己做個vpn server來host FIFA的lan game的說

好像很有趣的樣子

很想加入他的project

好啦

Wiimote Gesture Recognition

Up until this post, I assume that you should have played with your wiimote for some days.
You probably have tried to program something with the wiimote library that I've introduced from the previous post.
Now you might come with a question that, how to actually make sense from the data of the accelerometer on the wiimote.
So there are people doing gesture recognition with the wiimote.

I've just realized that to fully utilize the accelerometer that I actually need a gesture recognition software when I was reading the wiimote specifications at Wiili.org.
So the first library that I've discover is the Wiigee which is a java based library.

wiigee is an open-source gesture recognition library for accelerometer-based gestures specifically developed for the Nintendo® Wii™ remote controller. It is implemented in Java™ and, thus, is platform-independent. Using a third-party Bluetooth®-library wiigee allows you to define and recognize your own, freely trained gestures.

The wiigee library

allows you to define (train) your own arbitrary gestures,
recognizes these gestures with high accuracy,
offers an event-driven architecture with which you will be able to
integrate the gesture-input as easy as common mouse-input.

Here come some video demo for wiigee.

Even though I've downloaded the library but I haven't got it to work on my pc yet.
As the library require another bluetooth library for java and I've always got an exception about the bluetooth connection stuff.
If any of you manage to get it work on your pc, please don't hesistate to give me an update.

Here there is a library for C/C++ which is called Accelerometer Gesture Recognizer.
I still haven't got it work with my pc either as I still cannot manage to compile it due to unknown reason.

However, there are few alternative C/C++ libraries to it such as Accelerometer-based Gestures for Openmoko Neo FreeRunner which also works for wiimote.
This project was done under the Google Summer of Code 2008 program.

Even though I've never tried to build this library as it is written in C code though but it seems work pretty good from the video demo above.

There is another C/C++ library which is program by a Taiwanese which is WiimoteGR (I found his blog which lead me to this page anyway).
On the wiki page which is linked above, the author even describes how the library work in diagram and some pseudocode.
It is pretty good reference if you want to program a similar library.
I guess that I will use this library for my project as it works fine when I tried to train it with some gestures and have it to recognize the gesture.

Finally, here there is a C# library for those who love managed code which is Wiigle.

Wii-based Gesture Learning Environment
WiiGLE provides support for recognizing gestures based on the Wiimotes accelerometers. The current version features some basic feature calculations on the raw signal and a simple NaiveBayes classifier. To this end, it makes use of the Managed Library for Nintendo's Wiimote by Brian Peek and the Weka Data Mining Software by the University of Waikato. It provides interfaces to integrate your own feature calculations and your own classifiers.

WiiGLE provides and environment to record gestures, calculate features, train classifiers, and use the Wiimote for online gesture recognition based on accelerometer data. It features a Programming API that allows integrating your own features and classifiers.

There are some good documentations on it and even a video tutorial.
It seems pretty even though I haven't tested it out yet.

So for the few libraried above, most of them are released under LGPL license which allows you to do anything with it either open source or commercial.
This is a good sign for those who want to learn more on it.
You can just download the source code and see what the authors have done.

So now you have the gesture recognition libraries here, let's get it Rock 'n Roll!!

How to make use of the Wiimote

So now you have your wiimote connected to your PC, isn't it?
You probably tried to press the buttons on the wiimote or even tried to shake it, but nothing happens in the end and the 4 LEDs just keep blinking.
Don't be frustrated, it is because you do not have any programs that read the data from your wiimote and make use of it.
So here I introduce to you few of the wiimote libraries that I've tested anyway.

First, here comes the managed library which is WiimoteLib.
This library started out as an article at the Coding4Fun site and eventually many people use this to develop their projects with wiimote.
For a familiar example, it is also used by Johnny Chung Lee's projects which were posted in the previous post.
Here's a screensot to let you see how it is looked like.

Next, here comes a C library called Wiiuse.
It is one of the very first library that enable you to gain access to the wiimote with your PC, I guess.
For those who like to program in C language, you can go for it as its support for the wiimote is pretty good and it can support most of the bluetooth stack theoritically.

In case that you would like to program in Java, there is a Java wrapper for the Wiiuse above called WiiuseJ.
It is supposed to be able to do whatever the Wiiuse can do though.

Lastly, it is a great news for those who love C++, there is an excellent library for C++ which is WiiYourSelf!.
It is a fully featured library which supports everything from the wiimote even the speaker and vibrator.
This is the library that most recommeded by me as it is really easy to use though.

How to connect the Wiimote to PC

If you were reading the previous post, you probably want to know how to connect the wiimote to your PC.
Here there is a simple trick to do that.
First, please make sure that you have the ingredients (cooking?) below on your hand.

Wiimote - I assume that you should have it on your hand now
AA batterry x 2 - It is required for your wiimote to work anyway
Bluetooth dongle/device - Here there is a link to the Wiili.org that list all the compatible bluetooth devices (http://www.wiili.org/index.php/Compatible_Bluetooth_Devices)

So, I believe you should have them on your hand to start with.

Install your newly bought (probably) bluetooth dongle with your PC. Make sure that you have installed the driver properly and it has a working bluetooth stack. For my case, my laptop has an integrated bluetooth device and I installed Toshiba Bluetooth Stack on it. In case you are using Windows Vista, the Windows Generic Bluetooth Device also works actually.
Now your bluetooth is working on your PC, put 2 AA batteries into your wiimote and press some buttons to make sure that it is in working condition.
Up until this step, you are probably very excited and trying to scan for bluetooth devices on your PC after you press the 'on' button on the wiimote, don't you? And you are frustrated with it that the wiimote has a very short time out that your PC is not detecting it as fast.
Here there is the trick comes in, press the 1 and 2 buttons on the wiimote simultaneosly and have your PC to scan for bluetooth device immediately. With this trick, the time out for the wiimote becomes longer and your PC should be able to detect it and establish the connection. In case that your bluetooth stack ask you for the type of the device being connected, you should try to seek for the "Human Interface Device" from the list the options it gives you.
Daadaaaaang!! Your wiimote is now connected with your PC if you are able to proceed through these few steps without any problem. A prove of your wiimote is connected is that the 4 LEDs on your wiimote should keep blinking now.

So, is it really easy to get your wiimote connected?

It had been 2 years that I abandoned this blog.
I decided to revive this blog and use it to post some of the technical stuff that I have a touch with it.
So let's start a little bit with it.

In case you do not know that, I'm under going my final year project (here onward refers to fyp) in the university.
My fyp title is "Developing Interactive Application with Nitendo Wii Remote" which is supervised by John See.

So now we go to the main point.
Why wiimote?
What's so special about it?
I believe you might not see very cleary on the descriptions written on the picture above, so I have to go over it by myself.

The Wii Remote, sometimes unofficially nicknamed "Wiimote", is the primary controller for Nintendo's Wii console. A main feature of the Wii Remote is its motion sensing capability, which allows the user to interact with and manipulate items on screen via movement and pointing through the use of accelerometer and optical sensor technology. Another feature is its expandability through the use of attachments.

Basically, wiimote is an innovative controller developed by Nitendo for their latest console which is called Nitendo Wii.
Wiimote posseses capabilities as stated above that others do not.
Due to the fact that the wiimote is connected to the Wii console with bluetooth, people have tried to connect it to the PC and they succeeded.

They managed to decode the packet sent by the wiimote and retrieve the information within it.
It made using the wiimote with PC as a new human interface device becomes a new possibility.
There are few interesting projects that utilized the capabilities of the wiimote.

Above are few very interesting projects done by Johnny Chung Lee.
There are a lot more of interesting projects that are available on the Internet and most of them have a video uploaded to youtube to demostrate it.

So back to the discussion of my project, the main point of my project is to mase use of the wiimote to create an interactive application.
Here the application could be anything else but I've proposed a dodge ball-like game for it.
Due to the nature of this project, it would be mainly based on the implementation rather than research.
And my main focus on this project is interactivity.
So to start everything, I need to have a wiimote on my hand.
Edwin (tutor that is the co-supervisor of this project) lends me one of his wiimote for us to start with it.

Wiimote that I got from Edwin last week and 4 AA batteries that I bought from the shop at FIT.

The above picture shows the equipments that I need to start with.
The next step is about to connect the wiimote to my pc and run some demos with it.

Oppss.... It's been a few months i didn't update my blog.
Oh well... Since i just have internet connection at home already,
then i will try to update my blog some time when i am free.

Here i will briefly talk about my condition now.
Yeah... As i expected before,
i've transfered to MMU Cyberjaya campus and taking software engineering now.
Nothing much and less.
Just fit myself with the new environment.

Ooppsss... it was a few days i don't update my blog.
So i'm paying an update when i'm free now.
Well... These few days really busy, though.
And i'm also not in a good mood.
Everything is going to an end soon.
Still about 1 week and a few days to my final exam.
However, i still dun have the free time to prepare for it now.
Still have some works bothering me.

Well... And i've found my accommodation at Cyberjaya already.
I'll stay at a condominium with my housemate.
It's actually a long story to have a final decision like this.
First of all, my housemate told me that he found a room for me but i will need to find a roomate to share this room.
Unfortunately, i didn'y find anyone but i found that my classmate that have booked his room at Cyberjaya, he told me that the unit he booked still have empty.
Then i got the hp number from him and tried to call it.
It's really cheap then the other room i could find as i can even afford 1 person 1 room.
I decided to get that room but i didn't give a call as i still want some time for consideration and see whether there is any variables.
Surprisingly, my housemate told me that their condominium still lack of 1 person as they've underestimated the number of people can live in.
So i've made my final decision to stay in the condominium.
Well... If i dun satisfy with it at that time then i will move outside.
This is my solution if only i feel dun like that place.

Haih.... Tomorrow will be my lab paper already.
I still haven't started to study properly yet.

Today is my MUET exam.
So, i woke up early in the morning.
After i prepared, i went to the MMU main entrance and i saw the taxi driver was already there.
Quite a professional taxi driver, though.
On the way, i recorded all the way the taxi driver has gone just in case i would like to rent a car to go for speaking test next time.
It's quite a long distance and i found that it's located near the seaside.
The Malacca Straight looks so beautiful there.
Maybe next time i shall stop there and enjoy the scenery for awhile.
Well... But unfortunately, the taxi drive has no change with my RM50 cash.
So he told me to get my change next time i see him at the MMU main entrance.
However, even until now i also haven't got it yet cos i didn't see him after i came back.

Well... This is the hall where the exam was running.
It's not really big in size i think but the facilities inside it are lousy.
There was no any light even though the lighting condition is in somewhat considered as bad.
The reading test was easier than what i've expected actually.
So i dun think it's a big trouble for me.
I met someone also a MMU student there.
I tried to talk to him 1st then finally i can "tumpang" his car to go back.
He's quite nice though so.
If i'm not mistaken, his name sounds like Lai Chee Yee i think.
Then the next writing test also not that difficult for me.
But the listening test i really couldn't hear some words.
Maybe i'm not really used to hear the foreign English accent.
So i think it might pull me down.

Just before i left the school, i take this photo at the main entrance of this school.
Actually i haven't seen properly all the buildings inside it.
Maybe next time i shall go to see around there.
Really thanks to Lai Chee Yee that sent me back to EP.
I save a lot of time and money.
After i came back then what?
It's of course to have a good sleep 1st lah!!
Hopefully i could get a good result in MUET.

Haih... Tomorrow is MUET.
It makes me not in a good mood.
I really hate the Exam Office arrange me to such a far venue with knowing that i'm staying at Ayer Keroh.
Even arrange me to the town school also a good deal but they don't.
So i'm forced to go to a place that i dunno at all.
Well... Besides, i'm not really good at these kinds of language stuff now.
In some ways it's my critical weakness though so.
After finishing the test tomorrow, i still have another speaking test to go.
So i have to go to the school twice though so.
And i still have a lot of works at hand.
Have to prepare for the literature component presentation, prepare for the lab test and prepare for the final exam.
Ooppss.... I almost forgot about it!
I still have a statistics project at hand.
I really dun have much time to deal with these things.
Haih... I'm helpless.... I'm lonely...
Who can give me comfort?

Taadaaaah..... This is my only one MUET reference book. Not really good 1 actually. It doesn't reveal much tips of MUET though so. All it says are general things only. SO i just use it to do some exercise for MUET.

Hehe... This was my English textbook for last trimester. It's quite helpful though so. Even though until now i haven't gone through it again yet since last trimester. But later i will study it.

And as a conclusion of this blog, i hope i can perform well in the MUET tomorrow. Gambatte!! You're the best!!

Today, finally i seriously started to study MUET.
Fortunately i have a reference book with me long time ago.
But it's not the latest format.
So i have no idea how is the MUET's format now.
But i think it should be almost the same lah!
Well... In order to get to the venue of my MUET,
i went to ask the taxi drivers at MMU main entrance.
The location of that school seems not a problem for them...
But he offered me a price that i really surprised with it.
It cost RM35!! SHIT!! F++king bloody hell!!
I feel like i've been taken advantage but i cannot resist it.
What i can do is only accept that price.
If MUET is not held in the morning,
then i will never call for a bloody taxi to get there.
I think that maybe i should keep track of the journey i will go,
and then rent a car to go there if i can.
It saves me some money though so.

Shit!! EP server was down for 1 day.
So it delays me to update my blog until now.
Well... Bcos exams are round the corner...
So my mood falls again.
I never worry of the statistics midterm exam but the MUET.
I not really know the exact latest format of MUET though so.
Then what? Just suffer with it.
Hopefully i really can perform well this Saturday.
I've almost forgot a problem is that i still dunno how to get to my MUET exam venue actually.
Not really familiar with Malacca though so.
Hopefully the every-knowing taxi driver could takes me there.

Well... Beside that, i have another work somemore.
It's a presentation of the literature components of our short story.
And the day for us to present it is next Tuesday.
SO SHIT!! I dun have that time to do all those things already.

And regarding to my forum...
Well... I decide to make it as public use rather than for my personal use.
It's just wasting resourses if i make it as personal use.
So i've found some friends that interested to be in-charged for the forum administration.
So the 1st step we will do is to come out with a new name.
Then we will change the domain name and design a logo and banner for this forum.
Advertise it to all of our friends and then make it more functionable.
Homepage will be after the forum is running stable and good.

Hehe... Finally we've finished our work already.
We submited it to our lecturer already and we dun have to worry at least for these few days.
Erm... Maybe i shall start preparing for my exam.
Another midterm exam and MUET are round the corner.
So i should start revision now.

Well... I'm in a good mood today though so.
Listening to FM radio while i'm typing this blog.
Today i feel like time pass so fast.
12 weeks have just passes in just a blink of eyes.
It does mean that i still only have a few weeks to stay at Malacca.
Well... Maybe i will really miss life at Malacca when i'm at Cyberjaya.
All the food here quite nice actually even though i started to get bored already.
But i still feel like can't wait to proceed to Beta level.
Just wanna escape from the massive amounts of exams right now.

And talking about my website, currently i'm searching for a good template to make up my homepage.
But technical problems seem to be the greater problems in the process.
Well... So it does mean that i won't finish it so fast as i'm really busy on other things right now.
And i've changed the template of my forum already.
It's look better now.
I still keep trying to make it more functionality before i start to promote my forum.

Huh... Before EP server is down due to maintainance, i would like to post my blog for today 1st.
Well... Today i was busy on doing our academic paper.
But we've spent some of our time on doing other things rather than our proper job.
And we've only spent less than 3 hours on doing our works.
So our progress is merely less than 20% completed.
Really panic with it.
I dun really have the idea to do these works.
So hard for me though so.

And i would like to tell my friends that i'm currently setting up a forum.
The forum is operating already but still need some adjustments.

Huh... These few days really busy on some works.
But i've used up most of my time doing my academic paper.
Such a crazy thing to do as i must get 5 articles for references and supports,
and write a 5 pages essay.
Even though i have 2 members in my group,
but they seem not provide much help to me.
I'm doing most of the thing by myself.
Even my lecturer also notice about it.
Oh well... Maybe i'm such a kind man that would tolerate them.
But i swear there will happen no more again.
(Not really confident with this statement... :-P)
Erm... So what i get from this work are only panic and tiredness.
Hope i could finish this work as soon as possible,
since i still have to take my MUET exam.
But actually i haven't study yet...
So i'm panic again...
Shit!! Where the time for me to study will come from while i'm that busy with my works now!!
Really worry about what grade i will get.
I dun really like this trimester though so.
Too many subjects have to keep up and too many projects to do also.
Really can't wait to go to degree level.
Well... Dunno what to say more...

Hehe... This is my computer desk and also function as my working desk. Is it look mess? Well.. I'm always doing my works in front of my computer and surfing internet or chatting through MSN at the same time.

Well... This is my bed as u can see. And of course it's just beside my desk. An typical hostel lifestyle. The scenery outside the window is good actually, but i used to cover it with my curtain. Although it's not exactly face sunny but the light comes from the window would make me can't see my screen on monitor. So that's the reason i always cover it with curtain.

Hehe...
This is my second blog site actually.
My first blog site is located at my friendster.
So starting from now, i will use this as my blog.
And i'm now trying to set up my personal website.
While i'm still busy on my academy,
so i might not be able to update my blog frequently.
